Your contract with us
When you sign the insurance form you accept the conditions in this
rental agreement. Please read the agreement carefully. If there is
anything you do not understand or agree with please consult a member
of staff.
Rental period
You will have the vehicle for the rental period shown in the
agreement although may agree to extend this period. If you do not
bring the vehicle back on time you are breaking the conditions of
this agreement. We will charge you for every day or part day you
have the vehicle after you should have returned it to us. We will
charge you the daily rate published at the office you have rented
the vehicle from until we get the vehicle back.
Your responsibilities
You must look after the vehicle and keys. You must always lock
the vehicle when you are not using it. You must protect the vehicle
against bad weather which could cause damage. You must make sure you
use the correct fuel and you are liable for any costs incurred if
repairs are necessary. You must not sell or dispose of the vehicle
or give anyone legal rights over the vehicle. You must not let
anyone work on the vehicle without permission. If we do give
permission we will only give you a refund if you have a receipt for
the work. If a fault occurs with the vehicle you must inform us as
soon as possible. You must bring the vehicle back to the place
agreed. One of our staff must see the vehicle and check its
condition. If it has been agreed that you may return the vehicle
outside normal hours you will remain responsible for the vehicle and
its condition until it has been checked by a member of staff.
You will pay for repairs if the vehicle needs more than our standard
valeting or if you have damaged the vehicle in any way.
You are responsible for any parking or toll charges including a
congestion charge.
You accept the condition of the vehicle when checking for damage.
This includes all tyres. You are responsible for any punctures
during the hire period what ever the cause.
Our Responsibilities
We are not responsible for any loss or damage to property left
in the vehicle.
We are not responsible for any loss of income or liable to any claim
in the event of a break down.
Charges
You will pay for the following charges.
The rental and any other charges according to this agreement.
Any charge for loss or damage by you, where you do not keep to your
responsibilities.
A refuelling surcharge if the vehicle is not returned with more fuel
than when it was supplied.
All fines and court costs for parking or other offences.
If you do not pay the appropriate authority you will be responsible
for administration charges which arise when we deal with these
matters.
The full cost of the insurance excess if the vehicle is damaged or
stolen even if its not your fault. (In the case of an accident
where it is deemed that you are not liable it is the hirers
responsibility to pay Hiverna immediately the insurance excess and
then claim the insurance excess back form the other party).
A loss of income charge when we demand it if we cannot rent outs the
vehicle because it needs to be repaired. We will charge you up to a
maximum of 30 days at the rates posted in the rental office.
Any charges arising from Customs and Excise or Immigration
authorities together with a loss of income while we can not rent out
the vehicle. (This includes any charges Hiverna incurs in having to
collect the vehicle from a Customs and Excise or Immigration
authority depot).
Interest will be added daily to any amount you do not pay on time.

Age 23 to 75 with 2 years driving experience on a full licence
EXCLUDED DRIVERS
Learner Drivers
Drivers using the vehicle for carriage of passengers for hire or
reward
Drivers using the vehicle for towing of any description
Drivers with the following occupations:
ARMED FORCES ENTERTAINERS
PROFESSIONAL SPORTSMEN/WOMEN
STUDENTS
ENDORSEMENT RULES
No cover in any circumstances on endorsements:
UT CD40 CD70
DD40 DD80
No cover until 5 years have passed from date of conviction -
endorsements:
AC10 AC 30
DR10 DR90 BA10 BA30
CD10 CD30 IN10
MS50 & MS90 TT99
Any 6 month disqualification
SPEEDING CONVICTIONS
Within the last 4 years:
One SP endorsement accepted
Two SP codes excess raised by a minimum of £50
Three SP codes NO COVER unless a request has been made to
Hiverna Ltd.
